a group of specially-trained personnel that is entrusted to go around the structure or property, searching for any signs of fire or smoke. If there’s an interruption in the total or partial operation of a fire suppression sprinkler or alarm system, firefighters will take over the watch.

The new edition of NFPA-101 Life Safety Code defines that a fire watch is designated to perform the following tasks: Notifying firefighters and building the occupants of an emergency being vigilant for the possibility of fires or fire dangers. They also prevent a fire from arising, putting out small sparks using a fire extinguisher or hose, protecting the public from fire or risk to their lives, as well as warning the occupants of any unsafe conditions that call for evacuation.

A fire-watch service professional that are certified and possess the proper certificate of fitness are capable of taking action in an emergency situation, when there is a temporary fire alarm system failure, to protect your premises, building or facility from the possibility of a flames.
